The Challenge
Smart home apps often struggle with cluttered interfaces, overwhelming options, and poor device feedback. The key challenges were:

Creating clear visual feedback for device status.
Designing a scalable system to support future device integrations.
Ensuring a fast, lag-free, and delightful experience on mobile.
Research & Discovery
I started with competitor analysis and conducted informal interviews with potential users (aged 25–50) to understand their habits and frustrations with existing smart home apps.
Key findings:
Users wanted quick, one-tap controls for essential devices.
Visual status indicators (on/off, active/inactive) were highly requested.
The ability to create customizable rooms and scenes was essential.
