Process
Research & Analysis: I studied existing platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Airbnb and noted strengths such as wide hotel selections and user reviews, and then identified weaknesses like complex booking processes and lack of mobile-friendly designs.
Information Architecture: I conducted surveys with 200 frequent travelers to identify their pain points. and developed personas representing a business traveler, a family on vacation, and a budget traveler.
Wireframing & Prototyping: I developed initial wireframes focusing on a clean layout with straightforward navigation and sketched several iterations to optimize the search bar and filter options. I created interactive prototypes using Figma, emphasizing ease of use and logical flow of actions and conducted usability tests with 50 users, refining the design based on feedback.
Usability Testing: We conducted usability tests with a diverse group of users to validate the design and identify areas for improvement. Based on the feedback, we made necessary adjustments to the design.
Visual Design & Style Guide: I selected a soothing color palette of blue, yellow and white to instill trust and relaxation, mimicking travel themes, and chose clear, easy-to-read fonts to aid users in swiftly browsing through information.
